Terry Bitar is a seasoned Non-Profit Founder, Architect, and Entrepreneur. A graduate of Notre Dame University Louaize, Lebanon, Ms. Bitar has a proven record of achieving desirable results by building and sustaining partnerships. From the tender age of 22, Ms. Bitar has worked in contexts of uncertainty, conflict, and crisis through her organization, Charity Donation Foundation, Inc.
While still a student in 2014, a major poverty outbreak reached her hometown of Zahle, fueled by the Syrian refugee crisis. Assuming her patriotic sense of duty, Ms. Bitar launched a campaign to serve her vulnerable community in an effort to preserve their dignity and relieve their suffering. This professional endeavor inspired her pursuit of an education grounded in poverty alleviation and eradication, wherein she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Studies, a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development, and commenced Ph.D. coursework in Poverty Eradication through Sustainable Architecture. Since graduating with Honors, Ms. Bitar has continued in her professional pursuits with the goal of linking social philanthropy with her educational background.
Her organization, Charity Donation Foundation Inc., is legally registered in Lebanon and is also operational in the United States as a 501c (3) non-profit organization, headquartered and incorporated in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Bitar’s passion for philanthropy and humanitarianism has established her as an effective leader and executive and has allowed her to serve in a variety of roles, such as jointly running and managing an Architectural design office entitled, Bitarchitects: an architectural study firm that specializes in promoting solutions to urban environments to enhance their structural performance through sustainable solutions.
With immense passion, diligence, and determination, she persisted in her research and has become an international speaker, earning wide acclaim, from the East to the West, with countries inviting her to speak about her social innovation and research background. She has been recognized by international communities, most recently, by Lions Club International for her social works, and appointed as a Global Goodwill Ambassador.
Above all else, Ms. Terry Bitar possesses extensive non-profit management capability and leadership capacity through her experiential and academic background, both of which are predicated on sustainable development solutions. Terry’s utmost goal is to make a positive impact and leave a sustained legacy in her community, and her country, for her people.
