Recognized for its steadfast assistance, Charity Donation hardly ever misses an opportunity to lead the way to fight poverty, especially in uncertain times.
On Sunday December 20th, 2020 Charity Donation Foundation launched its promised 1000 Christmas boxes distribution at its main silos in Zahle. The distribution was divided into batches, after in-depth discussions with the municipality of Zahle and the Ministry of Interior, recommending a decrease in the number of distributions accordingly to COVID 19 precautionary measures.
Families from all over the Bekaa region were invited to grab their Christmas box, after being screened, registered and assigned a number with a specific time. They were advised and asked to wear face mask, face shield, and gloves. Upon the distribution, the volunteers made sure everyone respected the social distancing measures that was a necessary element of the pickup strategy.
People were delighted by the parcel, and messages from all over kept popping showing extreme gratitude and happiness; while expressing the extreme overwhelm by the size of the box that clearly overpassed the usual.
As Winston Churchill said: “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
Lebanon is struggling through yet another huge amount of difficulties, and such circumstances call for enormous solidarity from all parties of civilization.
